On November 26–27, the RESPECT project several consortium partners gathered in Barcelona, Spain, to participate in the Battery Innovation Days 2024, a key event for the European battery sector. Bringing together representatives from research, policy, industry, and end-user communities, the event served as a collaborative platform to discuss the future of Europe’s battery value chain.
The RESPECT project team had the opportunity to exhibit the project, which garnered significant interest from attendees. This provided an excellent platform to showcase the project's goals and contributions while fostering discussions with industry stakeholders about the development of sustainable and innovative solutions for critical raw materials in battery production.
In addition to exhibiting, the consortium partners held several important meetings during the event. These included discussions with the Project Officer, Eduard Antics, and speakers for RESPECT's event “Critical Raw Materials Act: Dream or Reality? Perspectives from the RESPECT Project” Johan Blondelle (DG RTD, European Commission), Franz Geyer (BMW Group) and Fabrice Stassin (Secretary General, BEPA, Umicore). The meetings focused on finalising event details and ensuring smooth coordination across the project's activities.
The Battery Innovation Days proved to be a valuable opportunity for networking, collaboration, and advancing the shared mission of strengthening Europe's battery value chain.
